About the play
A day in the life of Llaregyb, on the Welsh coast, begins: “It is spring, moonless night in the small town, starless and bible-black, the cobblestreets silent and the hunched, courtiers'-and-rabbits’ wood limping invisible down to the sloeblack, slow, black, crowblack, fishingboat-bobbing sea.”
Two narrators take us through to the evening, introducing a multitude of colourful characters going about their business: Captain Cat, Rosie Probert, Gossamer Beynon, Organ Morgan, Willy Nilly Postman, Polly Garter, Dai Bread, Nogood Boyo and many more. The language used is Anglo-Welsh.
The first reading is open to all, but it would be useful to know roughly how many people to expect. You could register your interest via Facebook or by e-mail (). If you'd like to be involved but can’t make it on September 8, please let me know.
