The first ever festival of English language theatre in Finland took place on Saturday 18th October at Nuorten Taidetalo Narri in Itä-Pasila, Helsinki.

The festival brought together theatre groups that are based in Finland but perform in English, and the programme included work ranging from Shakespearean monologues to original contemporary drama.

FELT IF... 2003 was organized by the amateur theatrical society The Finn-Brit Players, who have been active in Helsinki for more than 20 years. The festival aimed to encourage new directors and performers, and to promote cooperation between existing groups. Other participants were Thespians Anonymous, theatre mojo, and the Finnish-Welsh Society.

Entries were be judged by a panel consisting of Joan Nordlund, Olli Pellikka, and Mark Shackleton.

The festival was opened by the British Ambassador at a reception to be held on Friday 17th October.
