Erotic wish-fulfilment or respectable suburban living? Instinct or contrivance? Subtle comedy, nonsense or social comment?
Who is the lover? What is the game? Why the bongo drums?
Harold Pinter, with his amazing perspectives on psychology and brilliant wit, proved himself one of the most influential English playwrights of the 20th century, if not all time. This piece was written in the 1960s as a television script. We think it should be considered in this context, and also enjoyed as a Pinteresque theatrical experience.
