Introduction by director Fionna O'Sullivan:
I first met [author] Nigel Quinlan in 1991, my first year in College, when we were cast in the same play being put on by U.C.C. Dramatic Society. We weren't in any of the same scenes, but we became good friends and still are. We share many traits: a love of theatre, a science fiction habit, an overwhelming fear of spiders.
Nigel claims that he decided to become a writer while sitting in the middle of a computer science exam he knew he was going to fail. That was over ten years ago, and his work is slowly gaining the recognition that it deserves, although it seldom gets seen outside of Ireland.
"Stuck" was first performed in 1996 in the Granary Theatre, Cork. It is my great pleasure to revive it for an audience in Finland, Irish student slang and all.
